Grapevine, TX Loves Soft Play Water Features
Citing product durability and high-quality customer service, the city of Grapevine, TX recently purchased three more Soft Play water play elements for two city pools. Of course, it also helps that the floatables are wildly popular.
“I have to admit that I never thought the floatables would be so popular compared to the water slides and the rock wall,” says Jennifer Kashner, Aquatics Supervisor. “But the floatables are by far the most popular. The rock wall doesn’t get used much at all and the slide is used occasionally, but the floatables are constantly used.”
In fact, Kashner says that people of all ages use the floatables, which helps to support the city’s mission for its recreation centers.
“Our mission is to be sure that everyone of any age has something to do in our facility,” says Kashner. “Water provides the best cardio workout you can do for your body, so we want everyone to enjoy our pools.”
The city originally purchased two Soft Play floatables in 2013 when they opened the new Dove Waterpark. They purchased a custom-designed cluster of grapes to honor the city’s heritage, as well as a floating log.
This year, they replaced the log with a larger dragon to allow more children to play at once. Simultaneously, they were getting ready to launch a brand new facility, The REC of Grapevine, and they ordered two more Soft Play floatables: an even larger cluster of grapes and a large cluster of leaves.
The REC opened on April 25 and Kashner says the reaction to the floatables has been overwhelming.
“People play on those things nonstop. Even adults climb on them to relax during adult swim or they play king of the mountain with their kids,” she says. “This is a multigenerational rec center and I see all ages play on those floatables.”
Kashner says that the city is very pleased with Soft Play’s products as well as its customer service.
“The Soft Play products are very, very, very durable. Kids can really beat on them and they stand up to it,” she says. “The grapes they designed for us are perfect. They really got the concept of what we wanted and they ran with it. We’ve used Soft Play now for two facilities. They are a great company with great products.”
